Quiz Question for Weekend of 1st July

This weekend we have a very interesting

puzzle which will tax your brains and

your knowledge. To win the Quiz, you have to

answer the puzzle  correctly and in full.

Needless to say, the decision of the Quizmaster

is final!

The question this week is contributed by

Rohit Beri who once again comes up with an

innovative and quirky question! All you need

to do is look at the picture and answer the

following question:

The picture has names of cricket players in

different kind of boxes. There are six kinds of

boxes with the names of individual players.

These boxes represent some achievement or

incident. The same shape of box and a red

arrow connecting them means that

achievement or incident has more in common

than between the boxes of different shapes.

However, all these achievements or incidents

do fall in the same category overall.

Can you figure out the connection? Also there

is an odd one there, what is the story behind

that one?

Have a ‘Puzzling Weekend’!

  1. atulkumar says:

Blue diamonds: World cup winning captains (Llyod, Ponting, Dhoni)

Triangles: Player of the tournament award winners in world cups – Jayasurya (1996), Klusener (1999) and Yuvraj (2011)

Ellipse: top run scorers in a world cup: Crowe (1992), Tendulkar (1996, 2003)

Pentagon: most wickets in a world cup: McGrath (2007), Starc (2015)

6 point Star: Crow – related to others three as a world cup team captain who never won a cup

Star: Warne – related to two bowlers as most wicket taking bowler in a world cup (1999) but different because he was not the stand alone (Allott also took 20 wickets in 1999).

    Overall connection: World Cup tournaments

  2. Abhishek Mukherjee says:

The connection is obviously World Cup awards
1st row | Crowe | First to win Man of the Tournament
2nd row | Lloyd, Ponting, Dhoni | Captains to win Man of the Match in finals
3rd row | Jayasuriya, Klusener, Yuvraj | Man of the Tournament winners despite not scoring most runs or taking most wickets in the tournament
4th row | Crowe, Tendulkar | Scoring most runs and winning Man of the Tournament
5th row | McGrath, Starc | Taking most wickets and winning Man of the Tournament
6th row | Warne | No clue; winning Man of the Match in two semi-finals and a final, maybe

  3. Chinmoy Jena says:

    Well done once again Abhishek.
